“In this life, all we truly own is our story.”

Everyone has pieces of their personal story that makes them proud. We also have parts that, if we could, would be hidden away forever. Regardless of what has happened, those experiences are what makes us who we are today. Embrace your story.

My story began in a small blue-collar town outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a kid, I watched people’s lives change, seemingly overnight, as the steel mills shut down.  Unemployment skyrocketed and people struggled to provide for their families while searching to find their identity after life altering change. We waited in line for hours to get peanut butter and government cheese…and if I’m being honest, the cheese was a silver lining in an otherwise tough situation.  The government may fail at a lot of things, but making cheese might be their true calling.

Sorry, back to my story.  Time marched forward and life as we knew it instantly changed, which can be scary. People lost what they had known for generations and didn’t know how to move on. Some adapted. Some didn’t. It’s tough to watch people struggle and even tougher when you don’t know how to help. But it’s unbearable to watch people struggle who don’t know how to help themselves. Does that make sense? They tried, but maybe didn’t know what to do or how to create change. To say the least, it was a hard-hitting time which had a lasting effect on me.

It was during this time I realized being funny could help people forget their troubles and put them in a better frame of mind; even if it was only for a short time. I started doing small stand-up comedy shows, birthdays, back to school events, etc.  Eventually, I moved to New York City to pursue laughter as a full-time occupation.  That was 20 years ago and a lot has happened during that time.  I got married, had children, received a graduate degree from Purdue University and spent 15 years with Fortune 500 companies.  Through all of this, I worked extremely hard to put principles into place that ensured success.  Now, my dream is to share what I have learned with you.  I want to help you figure out your finances and learn principles that will change how you view money and save for your future.

We all have a story.  You may have grown up in poverty like I did…or maybe you grew up rich.  Regardless, it’s very likely you have not been taught basic financial principles; so, you spend your time faking it as though you know what you’re doing. At least that’s how I started.  I remember the fear, wondering if I would look stupid to others and questioning if I was smart enough to learn the financial world.  But guess what, it’s not as difficult as you think.  Let me show you the simple principles you can put in place now to create the future you deserve.

I’m ready to help when you are ready to learn.  Let’s go!
